We all know that Turpentine is for thinning and cleaning. But what is the difference between a distilled and rectified turpentine

Distilled Turpentine is a volatile oil obtained from the wood of pine trees by steam distillation. It has the ability to remove hardened paint from paint brushes. It could speed up drying time as it dilutes your paint and evaporates off it.

Rectified Turpentine is turpentine that has been purified, it works same as distilled turpentine only with less odor, and is much kinder to your brushes.

We also know that Thinner is used for similar purpose as Turpentine. So what exactly is thinner? How it differs from Turpentine?

Thinner is a liquid substance used to thin the consistency of oil-based paint or to clean brushes after use (fresh paint). Turpentine is used as a solvent and paint thinner. Also, if compared, turpentine is considered less toxic.
